We supply fully trained dogs to companies, sole traders, charities and individuals. Different funding options are available, depending on your needs.
We provide education and support:
We provide training and support to help you understand how to engage with our dogs, how to handle our dogs and utilise them within your business to maximise their benefit.
We provide PD:
We provide professional development, to individuals and organisations, to help understand the different roles dogs can undertake and how dogs are trained to achieve these roles.
THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A THERAPY AND SUPPORT DOG
Dog assisted therapy can involve activities that help support an individual’s health and wellbeing.
These activities can:
- support social inclusion and engagement
- support verbal communication
- support emotional well being
- reduce anxiety and depression
- reduce isolation and loneliness
- support and maintain an individuals gross motor skills
- support and maintain an individuals fine motor skills
Dog assisted therapy can be group based, or one on one with an individual.
Having a therapy or support dog provides emotional support and the motivation to undertake/overcome obstacles and or tasks that could otherwise seem overwhelming.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT ROLES THAT THE DOGS CAN DO?
Assistance Dog – An Assistance Dog or Service dog, is a dog that has been trained by a recognised organisation/trainer to aid or assist a person with a disability with daily living. These include but not limited to Autism, PTSD, Physical Disability, Vision Impairment, Hearing Impairment. An assistance dog has public access rights. Whilst they are in training and once they are qualified.
Guide Dog – Guide dogs are assistance dogs that have been specifically trained to assist a person with a visual impairment.
The primary role for a Guide Dog is to assist the handler through navigating and indicating various obstacles. A Guide Dog has public access rights. Whilst they are in training and once they are qualified.
All of our guides are trained to meet International Guide Dog Federation standards.
Therapy Dog – A Therapy dog is a dog that has been trained to work alongside a health care professional as an inclusive part of their therapy sessions.
These dogs are task driven and have an active role within the sessions. Roles can be greatly varied from paediatrics through to dementia. Therapy dogs do not have public access rights.
All of our Therapy Dogs are trained to meet the specific needs of the organisation or sole practitioner.
Support Dog – A support dog is a dog that has been trained to provide emotional support to the handler or to aid the handler in providing support to others.
These dogs can be trained to recognise when the handler or client is becoming stressed or uncomfortable and provide support or intervention. Support dogs are great for improving emotional wellbeing in facilities such as Schools, Universities, Aged care facilities.
Support dogs do not have public access rights. All of our support dogs are trained to meet the individual needs of the client/facility.
Our aim is to provide high quality trained dogs, with the education and support for companies and individuals to maximise the benefit of their dogs.
